Terraforming Mars – Board Game Overview

In the 2400s, humanity begins terraforming Mars with the help of powerful corporations funded by Earth’s World Government. In Terraforming Mars, players lead competing corporations to raise the planet’s temperature, oxygen, and ocean levels—working together to make Mars habitable while competing for victory points through innovation and expansion.

Players manage resources, develop projects, and strategically place city, ocean, and greenery tiles to gain bonuses and achievements. With over 200 unique project cards, each offering different effects, players must balance production, resource management, and long-term planning.

Each generation (round) includes four phases: shifting player order, researching new cards, taking up to two actions per turn, and producing resources.

The game ends when all global parameters—temperature, oxygen, and ocean—reach their targets. The corporation with the highest Terraform Rating and Victory Points wins, leading the future of Mars.
