Pokemon Old Maid Card Game (Babanuki, Red Box) – Pokemon Center Japan

Japanese Pokemon Old Maid Card Game from Pokémon Center Japan

This Japanese Pokemon Old Maid card game, ポケモンババ抜き (Pokémon Babanuki), is the original red-box edition sold at Pokémon Centers in Japan from 11 May 2019. It is a standalone family card game, not a Pokémon Trading Card Game product: the cards are made for playing Old Maid, not for TCG decks or battles.

What is inside the box

• A deck of Old Maid cards featuring Generation One Pokémon such as Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Meowth, Psyduck, Slowpoke, Chansey, Ditto and Mew.
• Every Pokémon comes as a matching pair except Gengar, the old maid card nobody wants to be left holding.
• Japanese packaging and instructions.

How to play Old Maid

Deal out all the cards and discard any pairs in your hand. Players then take turns drawing a card from the next player and discarding any new pairs. The first player with an empty hand wins, and whoever is left holding Gengar loses. It is a quick, easy game for family and friends, and young Pokémon fans pick it up in a minute.
