Chaos Rising card list guide with Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution ME04 sealed products

The Chaos Rising card list covers the fourth main expansion of the Pokémon TCG’s Mega Evolution series, led by Mega Greninja ex and Mega Floette ex. Released on 22 May 2026, the set has 122 cards, with 36 secret rares sitting above the 86-card main set and a Mega Hyper Rare Mega Greninja ex at the very top.

In this guide we go through every rarity tier, list the secret rares by number, pick out the cards collectors chase most, and explain what comes in each sealed product. Whether you are filling a binder page or choosing between a booster box and an Elite Trainer Box, everything you need is below.

Pokémon Chaos Rising at a Glance

Pokémon Chaos Rising carries the product code ME04 and includes cards from the Japanese Ninja Spinner expansion. Its official story sets the tone: Mega Floette ex is stirring up trouble in the city, and Mega Greninja ex rallies other Megas, including Mega Pyroar ex and Mega Dragalge ex, to stop it. The booster packs feature all four, illustrated by akagi.

The set includes five Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, five other Pokémon ex, 11 Illustration Rares, 18 Ultra Rare Pokémon and Trainer cards, and six Special Illustration Rare Pokémon and Supporter cards. Many of its Pokémon come from the Kalos region, so it pairs naturally with the Lumiose City setting of the previous set.

Release Date and Where Chaos Rising Fits

Prerelease events at participating local game stores ran from 9 May 2026, giving players a chance to try the new cards early with a Build & Battle Box. The full set then launched worldwide, including in Australia, on 22 May 2026.

In the series, Chaos Rising follows Perfect Order (ME03), which introduced Mega Zygarde ex. It was followed on 17 July 2026 by Pitch Black (ME05), and Delta Reign (ME06) is scheduled for 6 November 2026. Each set has its own headline Megas, so many collectors choose based on their favourite Pokémon.

How Chaos Rising compares with nearby sets

Set size has a big effect on how quickly you can finish a binder and how many packs you are likely to open along the way. Here is how Chaos Rising lines up against the sets released before it in the series:

At 122 cards, Chaos Rising is the most compact of these four sets. With a single Mega Hyper Rare and 36 secret rares, completing the main set and secret rare run is a realistic goal, especially if you mix pack opening with a few trades.

The Chaos Rising Card List by Rarity

The full Chaos Rising card list runs from 001 to 122, with every card printed out of 086. Any card numbered 087 or higher is a secret rare, so a quick look at the number in the bottom corner tells you instantly whether you have pulled one of the 36 extras. Here is the breakdown:

RarityCard numbersCardsExamples

Mega Hyper Rare1221Mega Greninja ex

The ten Pokémon ex in the main set

These Double Rare cards sit at the top of the main set and are the easiest way to get playable copies of the set’s biggest Pokémon. They also turn up more often than the full-art and illustrated versions further up the list. Five of the ten are Mega Evolution Pokémon ex:

  • Beedrill ex (003)
  • Mega Pyroar ex (015)
  • Mega Greninja ex (022)
  • Mega Floette ex (035)
  • Gourgeist ex (041)
  • Mega Gallade ex (048)
  • Krookodile ex (055)
  • Cobalion ex (064)
  • Mega Dragalge ex (065)
  • Cinccino ex (073)

Mega Gallade ex and Krookodile ex are the two without a full-art Ultra Rare or Special Illustration Rare version in the secret rare range. If you collect either Pokémon, the Double Rare is the card to look for, so keep an eye out for them among the bigger pulls.

Chaos Rising Chase Cards

Every set has a handful of cards that drive demand, and the Chaos Rising chase cards sit at the top end of the numbering, from 116 to 122. The Pokémon Company does not publish official pull rates, so treat any odds you see online as community estimates rather than confirmed figures.

Mega Greninja ex Mega Hyper Rare (122/086)

The Mega Hyper Rare is the highest rarity in the set and the final card in the numbering. Here it is Mega Greninja ex, the headline Pokémon, and it is widely seen as the top pull in Chaos Rising. Greninja has been a fan favourite since its Kalos debut, which makes this card a natural centrepiece for many binders.

The six Special Illustration Rares

Special Illustration Rares (SIRs) feature full-scene artwork that places the Pokémon or Trainer in a detailed setting. Chaos Rising has six, split between four Pokémon and two Supporters, so both Pokémon fans and Trainer collectors have something to chase. Each one is numbered just below the Mega Hyper Rare:

  • Mega Greninja ex (116)
  • Mega Floette ex (117)
  • Mega Dragalge ex (118)
  • Cinccino ex (119)
  • AZ’s Tranquility (120), a Supporter card
  • Roxie’s Performance (121), a Supporter card

Mega Greninja ex collectors have four versions to find: the Double Rare at 022, the full-art Ultra Rare at 100, the Special Illustration Rare at 116 and the Mega Hyper Rare at 122. Pairing the Mega Floette ex SIR with the AZ’s Tranquility SIR also makes a fitting display, given AZ’s long connection to Floette in the Kalos story.

Ultra Rares and Full-Art Trainers

The 18 Ultra Rares (098 to 115) include full-art versions of eight Pokémon ex and ten Trainer cards. They suit players who like to upgrade their decks with full-art versions of the cards they use, and collectors who want a complete secret rare run. The Pokémon ex Ultra Rares are:

  • Beedrill ex (098) and Mega Pyroar ex (099)
  • Mega Greninja ex (100) and Mega Floette ex (101)
  • Gourgeist ex (102) and Cobalion ex (103)
  • Mega Dragalge ex (104) and Cinccino ex (105)

The ten Trainer Ultra Rares are AZ’s Tranquility (106), Emma (107), Energy Retrieval (108), Jumbo Ice Cream (109), Philippe (110), Prism Tower (111), Roxie’s Performance (112), Special Red Card (113), Surfing Beach (114) and Tool Scrapper (115). Prism Tower is Lumiose City’s famous landmark, so it fits neatly alongside the Lumiose City Stadium from the previous set.

Chaos Rising Illustration Rares

The 11 Illustration Rares (087 to 097) show everyday Pokémon in full-card scenes, and they are a favourite with binder collectors. They sit below the Special Illustration Rares in the rarity order, which makes completing the row a satisfying mid-range goal.

The line-up is Chespin (087), Froakie (088), Frogadier (089), Ampharos (090), Xerneas (091), Claydol (092), Crobat (093), Metang (094), Sliggoo (095), Tauros (096) and Watchog (097). Froakie and Frogadier are a real treat for Greninja fans: put them beside the Mega Greninja ex Special Illustration Rare and you have a full evolution line in premium artwork.

Kalos fans will also enjoy Chespin, Xerneas and Sliggoo. Combined with the Fennekin promo in the Elite Trainer Box, Chespin and Froakie give you all three Kalos starters across the Chaos Rising cards and products, which makes a lovely starter page for any Kalos collection.

Mega Greninja ex, Mega Floette ex and the Other Megas

Mega Greninja ex is a Water-type that evolves from Frogadier and has 350 HP. Its Ability, Mortal Shuriken, lets you discard a Basic Water Energy card from your hand once during your turn, while it is in the Active Spot, to place six damage counters on one of your opponent’s Pokémon.

Its attack, Ninja Spinner, costs two Water Energy and does 120 damage. You may return a Water Energy attached to it to your hand to make the attack do 80 more damage. It has Lightning weakness and a retreat cost of one. Like every Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, it gives up three Prize cards when Knocked Out.

Mega Floette ex

Mega Floette ex is a Psychic-type with 250 HP. Gentle Light costs one Psychic Energy and heals 30 damage from each Pokémon in play, yours and your opponent’s. Eternity Bloom costs three Psychic Energy, deals 200 damage and lets you search your deck for up to four Basic Psychic Energy cards to attach to your Benched Pokémon in any way you like.

The supporting Megas

Mega Pyroar ex, Mega Gallade ex and Mega Dragalge ex complete the five Mega Evolution Pokémon ex in Chaos Rising. Mega Pyroar ex and Mega Dragalge ex both appear on the booster pack artwork and have full-art Ultra Rares, and Mega Dragalge ex also gets a Special Illustration Rare, which gives Dragalge fans an unexpected premium card to chase.

The Chaos Rising Product Line-Up

Chaos Rising follows the familiar main set format, so you can choose between a full booster box, an Elite Trainer Box, a booster bundle and larger sealed cases. Every option opens the same cards, so the decision comes down to pack count and extras. Here is what each core product contains:

The Chaos Rising Booster Box contains 36 booster packs.
  • Booster box: 36 booster packs. The Chaos Rising booster box gives you the most packs of any single box in the line-up.

Tips for Completing the Chaos Rising Card List

A clear plan makes it easier to finish the set without opening more packs than you need, and it keeps the hobby fun. Whether you are opening a single bundle or a full case, these habits will help you keep track of your Pokémon Chaos Rising collection:

  1. Print a checklist. Number it from 001 to 122 and tick cards off as you pull or trade them.
  2. Pick your goal. The 86-card main set, the 36 secret rares and a full master set are very different projects, so decide which one you are chasing.
  3. Build theme pages. The Froakie, Frogadier and Mega Greninja ex line, or a Kalos starter page with Chespin, Froakie and the Fennekin promo, makes collecting more rewarding.
  4. Protect your hits. Put Special Illustration Rares and the Mega Hyper Rare straight into penny sleeves and top loaders.
  5. Store sealed product carefully. Keep boxes out of direct sunlight and away from humidity during the Australian summer.

Tip: Spare Double Rares such as Mega Gallade ex and Krookodile ex make great trade material, because those are the only versions of these two Pokémon in the set. Collectors building full Pokémon pages will often be happy to swap for them.

Chaos Rising launched worldwide, including in Australia, on 22 May 2026. Prerelease events at participating local game stores began on 9 May 2026, where players could pick up the Build & Battle Box before the full release. It is the fourth main set in the Mega Evolution series.

What is the Japanese version of Chaos Rising?
