Prismatic Evolutions Guide: Eeveelution Chase Cards, Products and Buying in 2026
Umbreon ex, Sylveon ex and the other Eeveelution chase cards, the full product line-up and how to buy Prismatic Evolutions in 2026.
Prismatic Evolutions is the Scarlet & Violet special set that turned Eevee and all eight of its Evolutions into Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, and it quickly became one of the most in-demand Pokémon TCG releases in years. Nearly two years after launch, collectors are still chasing its Special Illustration Rares.
This guide explains what is in the set, which cards collectors chase most, why demand was so strong, what every sealed product contains, and what to keep in mind when buying it in 2026. All card numbers and product contents come from official announcements and trusted checklists.
What Is Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions?
Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions (SV8.5) is a special expansion from the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released worldwide on 17 January 2025, with the cards arriving in Pokémon TCG Live a day earlier. The official announcement spotlighted Eevee and its Evolutions, all appearing as Stellar Tera Pokémon ex.
The English set is based on Japan’s Terastal Festival ex (SV8a), a high class pack released in Japan on 6 December 2024. Like many special sets, it was never sold in traditional booster boxes. Instead, packs come inside Elite Trainer Boxes, booster bundles and a long list of collections.

Prismatic Evolutions Card List at a Glance
The full Prismatic Evolutions card list has 180 cards: a 131-card main set plus 49 cards numbered above it. The official release highlighted six ACE SPEC Trainer cards, ten Pokémon ex, 15 Tera Pokémon ex, 12 Ultra Rare Supporter cards, 32 Special Illustration Rares and five gold etched Hyper Rares. Here is the full rarity breakdown, based on the Beckett checklist.
| Rarity | Number of cards | Card numbers |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 46 | Main set |
| Uncommon | 33 | Main set |
| Rare | 21 | Main set |
| Double Rare | 25 | Main set |
| ACE SPEC Rare | 6 | Main set |
| Ultra Rare (Supporters) | 12 | 132 to 143 |
| Special Illustration Rare | 32 | 144 to 175 |
| Hyper Rare (gold) | 5 | 176 to 180 |
| Total | 180 | 001 to 180 |
On top of the regular cards, the set includes two premium parallel versions of many main set cards, one with a Poké Ball etched into the background and one with a Master Ball. These parallels are a big part of why a full master set is such a challenge, since many cards exist in several versions.
The Eeveelution Prismatic Evolutions Chase Cards
Most collectors open this set for one reason: the nine Eevee family Special Illustration Rares. Each one shows Eevee or an Evolution in a detailed full-art scene, and together they make a complete Eevee family line-up in a single set. These are the Prismatic Evolutions chase cards that drive most of the interest in sealed product.
| Pokémon | Special Illustration Rare number |
|---|---|
| Leafeon ex | 144/131 |
| Flareon ex | 146/131 |
| Vaporeon ex | 149/131 |
| Glaceon ex | 150/131 |
| Jolteon ex | 153/131 |
| Espeon ex | 155/131 |
| Sylveon ex | 156/131 |
| Umbreon ex | 161/131 |
| Eevee ex | 167/131 |
Umbreon ex: the headline chase
The Umbreon ex Special Illustration Rare (161/131) is widely regarded as the top chase card in Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions. Collector guides from 2025 placed it first, ahead of Sylveon ex (156/131) and Leafeon ex (144/131). Umbreon has a long history as one of the most popular Eeveelutions with collectors, so it is no surprise that its Special Illustration Rare became the card everyone wanted to pull.
Other Eeveelution highlights
Sylveon ex is praised for its bright pink and blue palette, Espeon ex for its deep purple tones, and Glaceon ex for its symmetrical, kaleidoscope-like background. Vaporeon ex has bold outlines that give it a stained-glass look. Many collectors aim to complete all nine and display them together, which makes a nine-pocket binder page the perfect home for the set.

Beyond Eevee: Other Prismatic Evolutions Chase Cards
The Eeveelutions get most of the attention, but the set has 23 more Special Illustration Rares and five gold Hyper Rares. Many of these are Pokémon ex that were popular in the Standard format at the time, alongside a group of Supporter cards, so players found plenty to chase in Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions too.
Other Special Illustration Rares
Pokémon highlights include Roaring Moon ex (162/131), Terapagos ex (169/131), Dragapult ex (165/131), Gholdengo ex (164/131) and all four masks of Ogerpon ex. Roaring Moon ex was the only non-Eeveelution in one popular top ten list of the set’s cards. The Supporter Special Illustration Rares are Amarys, Crispin, Drayton, Janine’s Secret Art, Kieran and Lacey.
Gold Hyper Rares
The five gold etched Hyper Rares sit at the very end of the Prismatic Evolutions card list:
- 176/131 Iron Leaves ex
- 177/131 Teal Mask Ogerpon ex
- 178/131 Walking Wake ex
- 179/131 Pikachu ex
- 180/131 Terapagos ex
Interestingly, none of the gold cards features an Eeveelution. That is one reason the Special Illustration Rares, rather than the gold cards, are the main chase for most fans of this set. The gold Pikachu ex is still a popular pull, given Pikachu’s place as the face of the franchise.
Tip: Sleeve and top-load any Special Illustration Rare or Hyper Rare as soon as it leaves the pack. Textured and etched surfaces can scratch easily, and worn edges or corners will lower a card’s grade.
Building a Prismatic Evolutions Master Set
A master set means every card in every version, and this set is one of the bigger challenges of the Scarlet & Violet era. On top of the 180 numbered cards, many main set cards come as a standard reverse holo, a Poké Ball parallel and a Master Ball parallel, which roughly triples the holo cards to collect. Not every card has every version, so a checklist that tracks each parallel is essential.
The promos are another layer. Several Prismatic Evolutions products include their own promo cards, and completionists usually want all of them. Promos are not found in regular booster packs, so the only way to get each one is through the product that includes it. Here is where each one comes from:
| Product | Promo cards included |
|---|---|
| Elite Trainer Box | Full-art foil Eevee (Illustration Rare style) |
| Super Premium Collection | Full-art foil Eevee ex |
| Premium Figure Collection | Etched foil Espeon ex and Umbreon ex |
| Surprise Box | 1 random etched promo from Eevee ex and the eight Evolution ex |
| Poster Collection | Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon |
| Tech Sticker Collection | 1 of Leafeon, Glaceon or Sylveon |
If you are working through the Prismatic Evolutions card list version by version, a few simple habits make the job much easier and save you from buying cards you already own:
- Sort by number first, then by version. Keep reverse holos, Poké Ball and Master Ball parallels in separate rows so gaps are easy to spot.
- Track promos separately. They are not part of the numbered set, so give them their own binder page.
- Trade duplicates early. Local league nights and trade days are the quickest way to fill gaps without opening more packs.
- Protect the parallels. Master Ball parallels are widely seen as the harder version to pull, so sleeve them straight away.
Why Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions Was So Popular
Several things came together to make this one of the most talked-about releases in years. Eevee and its Evolutions are among the most loved Pokémon of all, and this set gave every one of them a Special Illustration Rare. The Poké Ball and Master Ball parallels added another layer for collectors chasing a master set, and the bright, prismatic artwork appealed to long-time fans and newcomers alike.
Supply was the other factor. Because there were no booster boxes, packs could only be found in Elite Trainer Boxes, bundles and collections. Just before launch, The Pokémon Company acknowledged on the official Pokémon TCG account that high demand was affecting availability and said it was “actively working to print more” at maximum capacity. Additional print runs followed during 2025.
The release schedule also stretched demand out over the year. Instead of every product launching on day one, new collections arrived in waves from January to September 2025, so collectors kept coming back to the set for months. Each new collection brought fresh promos, which gave fans another reason to keep buying.
Prismatic Evolutions Products: The Full Line-Up

Elite Trainer Box
The Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box is the best-known product from the set. It has nine booster packs, a full-art foil Eevee promo in an Illustration Rare style, 65 Eevee card sleeves, 45 Energy cards, a player’s guide, six damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, two condition markers, a storage box with four dividers and a Pokémon TCG Live code card. Collectors who want ETBs in bulk can pick up a sealed ETB case of ten boxes.
Super Premium Collection
The Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection has the most packs of any single collection box, with 15 booster packs. It also includes a full-art foil Eevee ex promo, a playmat featuring Eevee and its Evolutions, a fuzzy Eevee deck box and 65 sleeves. It is a favourite for players who want premium accessories as well as packs.

Premium Figure Collection
The Premium Figure Collection was the last major release in the Prismatic Evolutions line, arriving on 26 September 2025. It celebrates the Johto pair of Espeon and Umbreon, with etched foil promos of both as Pokémon ex, a figure, an enamel pin, 65 sleeves and 11 booster packs. For Umbreon fans in particular, it is a great display piece.
Booster bundle, Surprise Box and smaller collections
The Prismatic Evolutions Booster Bundle keeps it simple with six packs. The Surprise Box adds a random etched promo of Eevee or one of its Evolutions as a Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, so it suits collectors chasing all nine promos. The Binder, Poster and Tech Sticker Collections are smaller gifts that pair a few packs with a binder, poster or sticker sheet.
Which Prismatic Evolutions Product Should You Buy?
With so many options, start by deciding what matters most to you: the number of packs, a specific promo, or a display piece. Budget and storage space matter too, as the premium collections come in large boxes. The list below matches common goals to the right product:
- Most packs in one box: the Super Premium Collection with 15 packs.
- Best all-rounder for players: the Prismatic Evolutions ETB with sleeves, Energy and dice.
- Espeon and Umbreon fans: the Premium Figure Collection.
- Organising your binder: the Binder Collection, which holds up to 378 cards.
- A smaller gift: the Poster Collection or Tech Sticker Collection.
- Just packs: the booster bundle.
If you are new to sealed products in general, our Pokémon booster box guide explains how boxes, ETBs and bundles compare across sets. Remember that Prismatic Evolutions itself never had booster boxes, so ETBs and collections are the way to open it in volume.

Buying Pokémon Prismatic Evolutions in 2026
The set is now almost two years old, but sealed product is still widely collected, and many people who missed out at launch are still filling gaps in their collections. Here are a few things to keep in mind if you are buying Prismatic Evolutions in 2026:
- Buy from trusted sellers. Popular sets attract resealed and fake products. Everything we sell is 100% authentic and officially licensed.
- Check the shrink wrap. Factory wrap should be tight and neat, with no loose seams or extra layers.
- Know your product. Use the table above to check pack counts and promos so you know exactly what you are getting.
- Store sealed product carefully. Keep boxes in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, which matters in an Australian summer.
- Collect for enjoyment. Card and sealed values move up and down, so buy what you love rather than speculating.
For players, keep in mind that the Standard format rotated on 10 April 2026, and cards with the G regulation mark are no longer legal in Standard. Check the regulation mark in the bottom corner of each card before adding it to a tournament deck. Collectors, of course, can enjoy every card regardless of format.
Prismatic Evolutions vs Terastal Festival ex
Terastal Festival ex, the Japanese counterpart, launched on 6 December 2024, about six weeks before the English set. Prismatic Evolutions and Terastal Festival ex share the same Eeveelution focus and much of the same artwork, but the Japanese version has its own numbering, rarity symbols and product formats, including Japanese booster boxes.
Many collectors pick up both, keeping the Japanese cards for their print quality and presentation.
